I gasp for air. Shaking in a cold sweat. Your piercing eyes haunt my dreams. Their deviance and untruth prick my honey toned skin. And while I was choked by their wishes for me to be silent, my soul screamed and screeched to be heard. You. The demon who haunted me from under the glass kitchen table. The one who’s greed swallowed the happiness my family never got to experience. Like a tight belt around a full stomach, you were always restricted by the lies you tricked yourself and the rest into believing. The demon. The preacher. The pastor.
