Bre'Anna Coleman is a first-generation college graduate from Drew, Mississippi, a small town in the heart of the Delta. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi's College of Liberal Arts, where, as a Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College student, she studied political science, journalism, creative writing, and African American studies. Her honors thesis examined the intersection of faith and mental health in the Mississippi Delta's African American community. In August 2026, she began a Master of Public Service at the Clinton School for Public Service, building skills in program development, evaluation, field research, and team building. A young Black queer woman from the Delta, she uses poetry and short stories as tools for activism, centering her work on community empowerment, storytelling, and mental wellness, with a special focus on youth leadership development, dialogue facilitation, and community engagement. She also hosts the podcast Divine Intervention, known as her "vocal diary" and an unapologetic space for book reviews and conversations about community building, mental health, and decolonizing the mind, grounded in the belief that liberation begins with the mind.
